Sports Week is one the most exciting celebration
at Saint George’s College. It lasted from Saturday 19th to Wednesday 23rd. Sports Week is a perfect time to get the whole
school involved in a sporting fun day and is a fantastic reason for students to
engage and experience sports like never before. Students had the chance to compete in Athletism,
handball, football, basket, and much more.

Religious Celebrations
HANUKKAH
Hanukkah is a special time for children. Gifts and Hanukkah money are exchanged. Some families give a small present on each of the eight nights of Hanukkah. Hanukkah is a great time for eating delicious foods. Some dishes have special significance, such as latkes (a kind of potato fritter), pancakes and doughnuts. This is because they are fried in oil and so Jewish people remember the miracle of the oil lasting eight days in the temple.
There are two important things to learn:

Assembly October 21st
On October 21st Grade 2 OTTERS was in charge of the assembly. One of the students started with this beautiful prayer
Dear Lord, We thank
you for having a meal to eat every day, for having a nice house, a fantastic
family and the opportunity to study at Saint George’s College. Please protect
our families and teachers. Please help us to be better kids every day and to
play fair with enthusiasm respecting each other as always. Amen.
Then, they continued talking about the Sport Week and "Día de la Canción Criolla", remembering the most representative peruvian creole singers such as Felipe Pinglo Alva, Isabel "Chabuca" Granda, Mario
Cavagnaro, Augusto Polo Campos, Lucha Reyes, El Cholo Berrocal, Luis Abanto
Morales, Arturo "Zambo" Cavero, Los Morochucos y Los Embajadores
Criollos.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL
Dear Otters we have started the last term of this year. There
are only seven weeks left for the end of the year and to enjoy vacations. Just make
an effort during this term. Try to do your best, do the homework and present it
on time. Remember to participate in order respecting everybody’s turn in every
class.
